What are some of the challenges and opportunities presented by the changing nature of work, the workplace, and the workforce? What are the possible impacts these challenges and opportunities have on the well-being of workers?
This roundtable brings together researchers from different disciplines to share highlights of their different perspectives of work and the workplace, and discuss their approaches and challenges of research in this area. Through each of their research projects, researchers will share how their academic research translates into meaningful involvement with research end-users for mutual benefits, engagement with external stakeholders and public participation, and collaboration with strategic stakeholders. They will also share how academic research is able to create social impact beyond academia, such as areas of health, public policy, culture, environment, economy and standards of living, etc.
Speakers

Assoc Prof Fang Zheng
Zheng is the Director from the Office of Graduate Studies at Singapore University of Social Sciences. She leads a research project that surveys 300 individuals aged 65 and above, that seeks to find the connection between lifelong learning and the subjective well-being of elderly in Singapore.

Assoc Prof Ada Wong
Ada is an Associate Professor with the Marketing Programme in the School of Business at SUSS. She leads the research project that seeks to improve employee satisfaction and potentially reduce turnover intentions, supporting the development of a more resilient and engaged workforce.

Dr Wang Jiunwen
Jiun Wen is Senior Lecturer at Human Resource Management Programme with S R Nathan School of Human Development in Singapore University of Social Sciences. She leads the research project Transformative Learning via Work Attachment Experiences to maximise learning of students during work attachments.

Dr Sheryl Chua
Sheryl is a lecturer and Deputy Head of Public Safety and Security Programme with the School of Humanities and Behavioural Sciences at Singapore University of Social Sciences. She is part of the research proiect Work, Well-being, and Resilience: Understanding Singapore's Mature Workforce.
