For most, general well-being has declined during the pandemic years, but there are also reported improvement in general well-being for some.
This roundtable brings together researchers from different disciplines to share highlights of their findings through different perspectives on well-being, approaches and challenges of research conducted on this topic in recent 3 years. Through each of their research project, researchers will share how their academic research translates into meaningful involvement with research end-users for mutual benefits, engagement with external stakeholders and public participation, and collaboration with strategic stakeholders. They will also share how academic research is able to create social impact beyond academia, such as areas of health, public policy, culture, environment, economy and standards of living, etc.
Speakers

Assoc Prof Emily Ortega
Emily heads the Psychology Programme at the School of Humanities and Behavioural Sciences in Singapore University of Social Science. She leads the NCSS-NAK 360 Panel Research, a longitudinal study that looks at how Singaporeans spend their time and track their well-being from 2020 to 2025.

Dr Hu Shu
Shu heads the Sociology Programme from the School of Humanities & Behavioural Sciences at Singapore University of Social Science. She is also the Co-PI for the research project that explores how intergenerational support is associated with the subjective well-being of older parents.

Assoc Prof Tay Huay Ling
Huay Ling is the Deputy Director at the Centre for Continuing & Professional Education in Singapore University of Social Science. She leads the research that works towards outcomes can positively affect beneficiaries by ensuring swift, sustainable, and effective humanitarian aid delivery.

Dr Victor Seah
Victor is the Acting Director at Behavioural Insights at Work (BI@Work), a Centre of Excellence at Singapore University of Social Science. The centre focused on the application of psychology and behavioural science to change behaviours and shift mindsets at the workplace.
